Polymega’s New City Connection Collection Brings Seven Jaleco Classics to Disc

Physical retro collections are still finding fresh ways to celebrate the less predictable parts of gaming history. Polymega has opened pre-orders for Polymega Collection Vol. 23: City Connection, a seven-game disc dedicated to Jaleco’s arcade and console catalogue.

The release is listed at US$39.99 on Polymega’s official store, with shipping currently scheduled for November 2026. That is a planned shipping window, not confirmation that orders have already dispatched.

Seven games, several eras of Jaleco

Rather than concentrating on one genre, the collection reaches across arcade, NES/Famicom, Sega Saturn and SNES/Super Famicom history. The official lineup is:

  • City Connection — arcade and NES/Famicom
  • Game Tengoku / Game Paradise: Master of Shooting — arcade and Saturn
  • Plus Alpha — arcade
  • Chameleon — arcade
  • Rod Land — arcade and NES/Famicom
  • Scud Hammer — arcade
  • Ignition Factor / Fire Fighting — SNES/Super Famicom

That range is the attraction. There is colourful shooting action, single-screen platforming, unusual arcade experiments and a firefighting game that SNES collectors may remember for its very different pace.

A real disc, with an important compatibility caveat

Polymega describes the product as a genuine game disc that can be played and installed to a compatible Polymega library. The package also lists a visual companion, controller reference, sticker and a commemorative pin while supplies last.

This is a Polymega Collection disc, not a universal disc for original Saturn, PlayStation or other legacy consoles. Owners should check Polymega’s own compatibility information before ordering. The official listing states that Collection discs work on Polymega systems; the original platforms named in the game list describe where the games came from, not what hardware this new disc can run on.

Why physical collections still matter

Digital reissues are useful, but curated physical releases also create a tangible record of games that might otherwise be overlooked. A varied compilation can introduce a player to something like Scud Hammer or Plus Alpha while giving familiar titles such as Rod Land a new place in a collection.

Console Revive take

We’re always interested when modern retro hardware encourages people to explore the wider history of consoles and arcades. This is a nice reminder that preservation is not only about the famous franchises: the oddities deserve attention too. Just make sure you know which Polymega hardware you need before buying.
